When your job demands maximum towing capability, the 2026 Ram 2500 delivers the muscle to match. This three-quarter-ton heavy-duty truck combines best-in-class diesel torque, advanced engineering, and towing-focused technology to pull up to 20,000 pounds when properly equipped. Whether you’re hauling construction equipment, fifth-wheel campers, or gooseneck trailers across Kansas City, the Ram 2500 provides the power and precision that serious towers demand.
What Makes the Ram 2500 a Heavy-Duty Truck?
The Ram 2500 sits in the three-quarter-ton class, positioned between light-duty pickups and one-ton workhorses. This classification reflects its reinforced high-strength steel frame rated at 50,000 PSI, heavy-duty axles, and suspension components engineered specifically for sustained heavy loads. Unlike light-duty trucks designed for occasional towing, the Ram 2500 is built for daily heavy hauling, on construction sites, farms, and highways where towing capability isn’t optional, it’s essential.
The truck’s class-exclusive five-link coil-spring rear suspension sets it apart from competitors still using leaf springs. This coil system maintains level stance under heavy loads while delivering superior ride quality, reducing driver fatigue during long workdays. The three-link front suspension paired with the robust frame creates a stable platform that handles heavy tongue weights and maintains control even when towing at maximum capacity.
Two Engines, Two Towing Philosophies
The 2026 Ram 2500 offers two distinct powertrain options engineered for different towing demands:
6.4L HEMI V8
Horsepower: 405 hp @ 5,600 rpm
Torque: 429 lb-ft @ 4,000 rpm
Transmission: 8-speed TorqueFlite
Max Towing: 17,750 lbs
Max Payload: 3,930 lbs
Max RPM: 5,600 rpm
Towing RPM Range: 4,000-5,600 rpm
6.7L Cummins Diesel I6
Horsepower: 430 hp @ 2,800 rpm
Torque: 1,075 lb-ft @ 1,800 rpm
Transmission: TorqueFlite HD 8-speed
Max Towing: 20,000 lbs
Max Payload: 3,600 lbs
Max RPM: 3,200 rpm
Towing RPM Range: 1,800-2,500 rpm
Maximum Towing Capacity: Configuration Matters
Achieving the Ram 2500’s maximum 20,000-pound towing capacity requires specific configuration choices. The highest ratings come from Crew Cab models with short beds, 4×2 drivetrains, Cummins diesel engines, and the appropriate axle ratio, typically 3.42 standard or available 3.73.
Four-wheel-drive models sacrifice approximately 1,500-2,000 pounds of towing capacity compared to 4×2 configurations due to additional drivetrain weight from the front differential and transfer case. A Crew Cab 4×4 Long Bed with the Cummins diesel maxes out at approximately 18,290 pounds.
Cab and bed choices significantly impact ratings. The spacious Mega Cab configuration, which provides the largest interior in any pickup truck, reduces towing capacity to around 14,630 pounds due to its heavier weight and longer wheelbase. Regular Cab models offer strong capability, up to 17,750 pounds with the HEMI V8, but sacrifice passenger space.
Fifth-Wheel and Gooseneck Towing Capability
The Ram 2500 excels at fifth-wheel and gooseneck towing applications where conventional hitches fall short. These hitch styles position the trailer’s weight over the rear axle, improving stability and weight distribution compared to bumper-mounted hitches.
Ram offers a factory Fifth-Wheel/Gooseneck Prep Package that installs a structural rear-axle crossmember with integrated mounting hardware directly into the frame. This factory-engineered solution provides robust attachment points without compromising bed functionality, and it simplifies hitch installation compared to aftermarket drilling and welding.
Fifth-wheel trailers typically place 15-25 percent of their total weight on the hitch as pin weight. A 16,000-pound fifth-wheel camper generates approximately 2,400-4,000 pounds of pin weight, which counts against the truck’s payload capacity. Buyers planning heavy fifth-wheel towing should carefully verify their specific truck’s payload rating ensures adequate capacity for pin weight, passengers, cargo, and the hitch itself.
Advanced Towing Technology
The 2026 Ram 2500 integrates technology that simplifies heavy towing and improves safety. The available Trailer Reverse Steering Control uses a dedicated knob to guide the trailer’s direction, drivers input where they want the trailer to go, and the system automatically steers the truck to achieve that path. This feature dramatically reduces the learning curve for backing up large trailers in tight spaces.
The available 360° Trailer Surround View Camera provides a bird’s-eye perspective around the entire rig, while the Digital Rearview Mirror with side camera integration delivers real-time views beside the trailer. These systems eliminate blind spots and make lane changes safer when towing wide loads.
The available Automatic Smart Exhaust Brake on diesel models uses exhaust backpressure to slow the truck on descents, reducing brake wear and preventing overheating during mountain towing. Heavy-duty four-wheel disc antilock brakes provide confident stopping power even with 20,000 pounds in tow.Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring tracks tire pressure on up to four trailers simultaneously, displaying readings directly in the 12-inch Digital Cluster Display. This real-time monitoring prevents blowouts and identifies slow leaks before they become dangerous.
Why Choose the Ram 2500 for Towing?
The 2026 Ram 2500 delivers the capability serious towers demand: best-in-class diesel torque, 20,000-pound maximum towing capacity, advanced trailer technology, and legendary Cummins reliability. Its class-exclusive coil-spring rear suspension provides superior ride quality compared to leaf-spring competitors, while the high-strength steel frame handles sustained heavy loads without compromise.
For construction professionals hauling equipment trailers, contractors towing gooseneck rigs, or families pulling large fifth-wheel campers, the Ram 2500 combines daily-driver refinement with commercial-grade towing capability. The Cummins diesel’s proven longevity.
The 6.4L HEMI V8 offers an attractive alternative for buyers who prioritize payload capacity and prefer gasoline simplicity, delivering 17,750 pounds of towing capability at a lower entry price. Both powertrains pair with the advanced eight-speed automatic transmission and comprehensive towing technology that makes heavy hauling safer and more manageable.

What’s New for the 2026 Jeep Gladiator?
The Jeep Gladiator continues to stand out as the only midsize pickup that blends true Jeep 4×4 capability with open-air driving and real truck utility. For the 2026 model year, Jeep builds on that foundation with new trims, special editions, upgraded technology, and improved convenience features that make the Gladiator more versatile for daily driving and off-road use alike.
The New Gladiator Sahara Trim
For the first time, the Sahara trim joins the Gladiator lineup. This model brings the premium look and comfort long associated with the Wrangler Sahara into the pickup segment. The exterior features body-color fender flares and a body-color three-piece hardtop, giving the truck a more refined appearance. Inside, the Sahara adds McKinley leather-trimmed seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, making it a strong option for drivers who want a balance of trail capability and everyday comfort.
Special Editions for 2026
Jeep is also expanding the Gladiator lineup with new limited-run models.
The 85th Anniversary Edition celebrates Jeep’s heritage with unique design elements, including Steel Oxide wheels, Blue Agave exterior graphics, a plaid interior, and special badging throughout the cabin.
The Shadow Ops Edition, part of the Convoy Series, takes a more rugged approach. It features a Satin Black grille, heavy-duty steel bumpers, and the first factory-installed winch ever offered on a midsize pickup. This model is designed for serious off-road recovery and utility, straight from the factory.
Tool-Free Doors for Easier Open-Air Driving
One of the most practical updates for 2026 is the addition of quick-release door hinges. These allow the doors to be removed without tools, making it faster and easier to enjoy open-air driving. Whether you are heading to the trails or just taking advantage of warm weather, the Gladiator now transitions from enclosed to open in minutes.
Standard 12.3-Inch Uconnect Touchscreen
Technology is also improved across the lineup. Every 2026 Gladiator now comes standard with a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, the largest standard display in its class. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and offers faster processing and clearer graphics than previous versions.
Available 12-way power front seats are designed for durability and are water-resistant, while still providing premium comfort.
New Exterior Color Options
The 2026 Gladiator introduces several new color choices. Reign brings a bold purple finish to the lineup. ’41 is a military-inspired olive drab exclusive to the Willys ’41 edition. Goldilocks, a new metallic gold shade, will be available later in the model year.
Capability That Still Leads the Class
Underneath the updates, the Gladiator remains one of the most capable trucks in its segment. It continues to offer best-in-class gas towing of up to 7,700 pounds and an available payload of up to 1,720 pounds. Combined with proven 4×4 systems, solid axles, and available off-road packages, the Gladiator is built for everything from jobsite work to trail exploration.

When shopping for a new SUV in the Kansas City area, one of the most important decisions many buyers face is choosing the right size and configuration for their lifestyle. Jeep’s iconic Grand Cherokee lineup includes distinctive versions for 2026, the traditional Jeep Grand Cherokee and the extended-length Jeep Grand Cherokee L with 3-rows. Each offers rugged capability, modern technology, and premium comfort, but they serve slightly different needs. Here’s a closer look at how these two SUVs compare so you can determine which is right for you.
Size and Passenger Space
One of the most noticeable differences between the two models is size. The standard 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a mid-to-full-size SUV that comfortably seats five passengers and offers generous cargo space behind the second row. The Grand Cherokee L builds on that foundation by adding a third row, expanding its seating capacity to as many as seven passengers, ideal for larger families or those who frequently travel with more people.
In addition to seating differences, the Grand Cherokee L provides more cargo space overall. With all seats folded down, the L model offers additional interior volume, making it a better choice if you haul gear for sports or plan to travel with the family. The extra third-row flexibility makes it easy to adapt the interior to passengers or cargo as needed.
Powertrain and Performance
For 2026, the Jeep Grand Cherokee lineup includes the 2.0-liter Hurricane turbocharged four-cylinder engine and makes approximately 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, offering great performance and efficiency. The plug-in hybrid 4xe version remains an option for buyers seeking added efficiency and torque.
Both the standard Grand Cherokee and the Grand Cherokee L share the same powertrain configurations, with the new turbo four-cylinder. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard on all models. Although the longer Grand Cherokee L is larger, it still maintains competitive performance and capability.
Capability and Towing
The 2026 Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L are engineered to handle a wide range of driving conditions, from city streets to rough trails. Both models offer four-wheel drive systems to enhance traction in snow, rain, and off-road situations. Jeep’s active driving and traction systems are designed to give drivers confidence whether navigating gravel paths or interstate highways.
Towing capability remains a strength for both SUVs, with many configurations able to tow up to 6,200 pounds. That means you can bring a boat, trailer, or gear for outdoor recreation without sacrificing SUV comfort or passenger space. The Grand Cherokee L’s longer body adds additional flexibility for hauling cargo behind the third row when needed.
Interior Comfort and Technology
Inside, both the Grand Cherokee and the Grand Cherokee L feature Jeep’s modern cabin design and technology suite. The refreshed 2026 Grand Cherokee introduces updates like a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Uconnect® 5 and available premium audio options. Interior materials have been upgraded with higher-quality surfaces, and available features like a digital instrument cluster and advanced driver assistance systems help elevate the daily driving experience.
The primary difference in interior experience comes down to space and seating configuration. The standard Grand Cherokee delivers comfortable seating for five, with ample legroom and cargo space behind the second row. The Grand Cherokee L adds a third row and adjusts overall cargo dimensions accordingly, excellent when extra passenger capacity is a priority. Both models offer premium options such as leather seating, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroofs, and more, depending on the trim selected.
Practical Considerations for Buyers
So, how should you choose between the two? If your priority is everyday versatility with strong capability and you normally travel with no more than five passengers, the standard 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee provides a balanced blend of size, performance, and comfort. Its slightly smaller footprint can make parking and maneuvering in urban areas easier, while still delivering great highway and off-road capability.
On the other hand, if your driving life includes larger families, frequent passenger hauling, or the need for flexible seating configurations, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L’s third-row seating and expanded interior space make it a compelling choice. This model is especially suited for drivers who want maximum versatility without stepping up to a larger SUV.

Drop 1: 2026 Jeep Wrangler Moab 392

Kicking off the Twelve 4 Twelve program in November 2025, the 2026 Jeep Wrangler Moab 392 set the tone for the series by combining legendary power with rugged capability.
MOAB Key Features:
- Class-exclusive 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 engine with 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque bringing serious performance to the Wrangler lineup.
- 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels mounted with 35-inch all-terrain tires for real off-road traction.
- Heavy-duty components like a 4.56 axle ratio and Selec-Trac full-time transfer case help tackle challenging terrain.
- Trail-ready design touches such as rock rails, body-color hardtop, and black tow hooks underscore its capability.
- Premium interior features include heated Nappa leather seats and an advanced infotainment system.
This first drop shows that Jeep is serious about making each release meaningful, pairing powerful capability with unique styling.
Drop 2: 2026 Jeep Wrangler Whitecap

Following the Moab 392, the second Twelve 4 Twelve release is the 2026 Jeep Wrangler Whitecap, revealed December 12, 2025. This edition leans into heritage and nostalgic styling.
Whitecap Features:
- Heritage-inspired design, drawing from classic Jeep CJ styling with a Bright White roof and white accents reminiscent of early hardtop Jeeps.
- Available on Rubicon, Sahara, and Rubicon X trims, so buyers can choose their preferred balance of comfort and trail capability.
- Two engine options: the modern 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder or the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 provide flexibility in performance and efficiency.
The 2026 Jeep Wrangler Whitecap celebrates Jeep’s design evolution and offers a visually distinctive option for buyers who value nostalgia and trail heritage.
What to Expect from Future Drops
Jeep has revealed the first two models and confirmed that each subsequent “drop” will occur on the 12th of each month for a full year, culminating in 12 unique Wrangler variations.
While Jeep hasn’t detailed all future models yet, clues and teasers released through the official Drop Zone hint that later editions may touch on other aspects of Jeep’s history, culture, or capability. Exploring the Jeep Wrangler Sky One-Touch Power Top
When it comes to an open-air driving experience, the Jeep Wrangler has long been the gold standard. With the available Sky One-Touch Power Top, Jeep takes it up a notch, combining the functionality of a retractable roof with the convenience of one-touch operation. For drivers in the Kansas City area who are looking for an open-air experience without the hassle of removable sections, this roof option brings new levels of flexibility and fun.
With the push of a button the roof begins to fold back over both the first and second rows. No tools. No panels to remove or store. This is the very idea behind the Sky One-Touch Power Top, designed for spontaneous open-air driving without compromising practicality.
How It Works & Key Attributes
Here’s a look at the key features of the Sky One-Touch Power Top, and how it can take your driving experience to the next level.
- One-touch electric operation: A single button triggers the fabric-panel roof to open or close, transforming the cabin from enclosed to open-air in seconds.
- Coverage for front and rear passengers: The roof system extends over the first and second rows, letting more occupants enjoy the open-top experience together.
- Convertible usability with everyday convenience: When closed, the roof offers shelter and insulation similar to a standard soft top, ideal for changing seasons in Missouri and Kansas.
- No storage hassle: Unlike removable hard-tops or soft-tops that must be detached and stowed, this power option stays attached and simply retracts, keeping trunk space intact and your vehicle ready for action.
These features make the Sky One-Touch a smart choice for drivers who want versatility. Whether you’re navigating city traffic in Kansas City or heading out for a trail, the ability to convert your Wrangler quickly adds to the appeal and functionality.
Benefits for Kansas City Drivers
In a region like Kansas City, where weather patterns change all year long, the Sky One-Touch offers several standout advantages.
First, it gives you the flexibility to go from commuter mode to weekend mode effortlessly. Second, you’re not sacrificing daily comfort for open-air freedom. The roof’s design retains usable headroom, structural integrity, and cargo space. Rain, wind, and seasonal changes are all accounted for; when you’re done enjoying fresh air, just press the button and you’re back under cover in moments.
Third, it reduces the effort required to enjoy an open-air experience. Removing and storing panels (or dealing with loose roof components) is a common frustration for open-top convertible-style vehicles, but the Sky One-Touch system removes that barrier. For busy drivers, families, or those who want flexibility without trouble, that matters.
Is It Worth It for You?
If you’re someone who frequently enjoys convertible-style drives, open-air weekends, or quickly switching between enclosed and open cabin modes, the Sky One-Touch Power Top is a great option. For the Kansas City driver seeking both style and functionality, this roof option supports spontaneous adventures without sacrificing practicality.
On the other hand, if you plan to use your vehicle heavily in extreme snow, often carry rooftop cargo, or prioritize maximum sound insulation and roof rigidity, you may want to compare the cost and trade-offs of this system against other roof options. For the majority of drivers who are looking for versatility, it’s a worthwhile upgrade on the Jeep Wrangler.

Discover The All-New 2026 Dodge Charger SIXPACK
Dodge has officially unveiled the gas-powered models joining the 2026 Charger lineup, and the news is big for muscle car fans. The legendary nameplate now pairs modern engineering with the unmistakable attitude that’s defined the Charger for decades. At the heart of this release is the all-new twin-turbo inline-six SIXPACK engine, delivering impressive performance in both the Scat Pack and R/T trims.
These gas-powered models join the recently launched all-electric Charger Daytona, offering buyers the choice between all-electric performance and the traditional punch of gasoline muscle.
3.0L Twin‑Turbo SIXPACK
The new 2026 Charger gas lineup centers on Dodge’s SIXPACK twin-turbocharged 3.0L inline-six engine. This powerplant is available in both the Scat Pack and R/T, with 420 horsepower in the R/T and 550 horsepower in the Scat Pack. While the 2026 Charger does not include the 5.7L HEMI V8, which was recently announced as returning to the Ram 1500 lineup, the new twin-turbo SIXPACK engines deliver even more power.
| Model / Year | Engine | Horsepower | Torque |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 Charger R/T | 5.7L HEMI V8 | 370 hp | 395 lb-ft |
| 2023 Charger R/T Scat Pack | 6.4L HEMI V8 | 485 hp | 475 lb-ft |
| 2026 Charger R/T | 3.0L Twin‑Turbo SIXPACK | 420 hp | 468 lb-ft |
| 2026 Charger Scat Pack | 3.0L Twin‑Turbo SIXPACK | 550 hp | 531 lb-ft |
Both gas models come standard with all-wheel drive for confident traction in a range of conditions, along with the ability to shift to 100% rear-wheel drive at the push of a button. That means you get the best of both worlds—control when you want it and classic rear-drive dynamics when you don’t.
2026 Dodge Charger Scat Pack
The 2026 Charger Scat Pack raises the bar for factory-built muscle cars. Powered by the 3.0L Twin-Turbo Sixpack, this model includes:
- 550 horsepower
- 531 lb-ft of torque
- Targeted 0–60 mph: 3.9 seconds
- Quarter-mile: 12.2 seconds

Standard all-wheel drive ensures year-round performance, and the ability to disengage the front axle for rear-wheel drive brings back the classic Charger driving feel. Available performance features include Line Lock for tire-warming burnouts, Launch Control for consistent acceleration runs, and available Brembo high-performance brakes for superior stopping power. The Scat Pack will be offered in both two-door and four-door configurations, with the two-door arriving first and the four-door set to follow in mid‑2026.
2026 Dodge Charger R/T
Slated for release in mid‑2026, the 2026 Charger R/T also carries the twin-turbo SIXPACK engine under its hood, tuned to 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque. With an MSRP* starting at $49,995, the R/T brings a more accessible entry point into the twin-turbo Charger family while still delivering muscle car performance. Like the Scat Pack, it features standard AWD with a rear-drive mode and a choice of two-door or four-door body styles once fully available.
2026 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack

The ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ offers a new tax deduction for car buyers who finance their vehicle purchase. We’ll explain how the auto loan interest deduction works, who is eligible, why you should act now on electric vehicles, and how Cable Dahmer CDJR in Kansas City can help you save.
What is The Auto Loan Interest Deduction?
Under this new legislation, qualifying taxpayers may deduct up to $10,000 in auto loan interest each year. This deduction is “above-the-line,” which means you can claim it whether you take the standard deduction or itemize. By lowering your adjusted gross income, this benefit can reduce your tax bill and free up cash for other needs.
Auto loan interest has long been treated as a personal expense with no tax break. Now, financing a new vehicle may come with a sizable tax benefit. For example, if you finance a $40,000 Jeep SUV at 5 percent interest over five years, you might pay more than $5,000 in total interest. With the ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’, you could deduct your interest paid. Even if your interest charges do not reach $10,000 in one year, you still claim the amount you paid.
Who Qualifies For It?
To take advantage of this deduction, the vehicle and purchaser must meet all of the following criteria:
- Vehicle final assembly is in the U.S.
- Vehicle must be new
- Vehicle is financed through a standard and secured loan
- Vehicle must be for personal-use; commercial vehicles and leases do not qualify.
- Modified adjusted gross income must be below: $100,000 for single filers and $200,000 for joint filers. For every $1,000 of income over these limits, your deduction reduces by $200.
- Must purchase between the beginning of 2025 and the end of 2028.
If you meet these conditions, you can claim this deduction on your tax return.
How to Claim the Interest Deduction
- Gather your documents: Keep Form 1098 and annual loan statements showing the interest you paid.
- Fill out Schedule 1: Enter the deductible interest on the line for other adjustments.
- File your return: Use tax software or a preparer that supports above-the-line deductions. You do not need to itemize to claim this benefit.
With clear records and the right forms, claiming the deduction is straightforward. Our finance team at Cable Dahmer CDJR can even estimate your annual interest deduction so you know what to expect before you buy.
Electric Vehicle Incentives Are Ending in September
If you are considering an electric vehicle, the $7,500 federal tax credit for new electric vehicles expires on September 30, 2025. After that date, no further federal rebate will be available. In addition, some state level rebates and incentives may phase out at different times, so check your local rules.
Models like the Jeep Wagoneer S EV and other plug-in vehicles are still currently eligible. Buying before the deadline locks in the full $7,500 credit for qualifying customers. If you lease, remember leases do not qualify for the auto loan interest deduction, but may still receive a portion of the EV credit as of now. Contact us if you have questions about specific vehicle eligibility.
